WELCOME TO TENUTA CAPPELLINA

At the southernmost tip of the Chianti Clasico region, you will find the organic winery of Tenuta Cappellina. Here, perched on warm south facing slopes, we enjoy spectacular growing conditions and views across the whole of southern Tuscany. Our philosophy is to make wines in an environment where biodiversity is promoted, where the natural rhythm of the seasons are embraced and where the vineyards are in perfect balance with nature. Our small team have been with us for many years and it is their passion for wine-making that you will taste in every mouthful of our wines. We hope you enjoy them.

If you share our passion for wine, why not visit our 235-acre estate and see for yourself how we make our wines. A number of wine tasting experiences are available where you can pair the local grape varieties of Tuscany with our traditional foods and estate-grown olive oil.

IN PERFECT HARMONY

Our wine making philosophy is to have perfect balance in our vineyards so the fruit we harvest is the only ingredient we need to use in our wines. Different clones of primarily sangiovese grapes, grown in different soil-types and in varying climatic conditions, gives us the components we need to achieve balance in our wines. Our dedication to harmony between fruit, tannin and acidity is what leads to our smooth, powerful, and aromatic wines.

HOSPITALITY

For organised groups we can partner a wine tasting experience with spectacular catering and entertainment. Your wine tasting can be part of a stay in our self catering apartments, or an activity for your wedding guests held at our on-site agriturismo, Borgo Argiano.

CONSERVATION

As caretaker to our beautiful corner of Tuscany, we are conscious of protecting the biodiversity of the land we occupy, of which 80% is woodland. Sustainability is the cornerstone of any responsible farming endeavour, and we are as mindful of the need to maintain this with the cover crops and insect life that thrive between our vines, as we are to provide a wild and natural ecosystem in our woodlands.
